Enjoy the history of
Stratford upon Avon and Warwick and the heritage of East
Anglia on our Constable Tour.
Starting at historic Stratford upon Avon and Warwick you
will explore the world of Shakespeare before journeying eastwards to East
Anglia, the region that inspired John Constable and the painters of the
Norwich School.. There
will be opportunities for bargain hunting at Antique shops as well as
the opportunity to attend Auctions and Antique Fairs [subject to
availability].
We appreciate that most of our guests wish to attend at least one
Auction and Antique Fair during their stay so our itinerary is necessarily
flexible to accommodate this.
Our usual tour 2 centre tour is as follows:
 |
The tour starts at Stratford
where you will stay for 2/3 nights at one of our recommended
hotels. During your stay you may have the opportunity to
visit the massive Newark International Antiques and Collectors
Fair as well as exploring the town of Shakespeare's
birth. Worth a visit are Shakespeare's birthplace, Anne
Hathaway's Cottage, Mary Ardens House and the Shakespeare
Countryside Museum and Warwick Castle.
|
 |
After leaving Stratford your Tour will take you
east to Bury St Edmunds, one of the oldest towns in Britain
where the Cathedral overlooks the ancient ruins of St
Edmundsbury Abbey. Long Melford described as the
"Antiques Capital of Suffolk" is close by as is the
12th Century castle at Framlingham. Worth a visit are Ickworth
House and Gardens and Kentwell Hall, a romantic Tudor
mansion. Cambridge, famous for the university and the
splendour of it's college buildings is also to be found at the
heart of East Anglia.
